Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of affiliateleague.net and related services (the "Service") provided by Affiliate League ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Athletes under 18 may participate only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, and the captain registering the team is responsible for verifying that consent.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account, and to keep that information up to date.

Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You agree not to share your account with anyone else. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may close your account at any time by emailing admin@affiliateleague.net.

Captain & Athlete Roles

When you register as a captain, you are responsible for:

• Paying the team registration fee.
• Inviting and managing your team's roster.
• Coordinating matches with opposing captains.
• Submitting accurate match results and verifying opponent results.
• Communicating with your home gym about the team's participation.
• Ensuring all athletes on your team have read and accepted the Liability Waiver before participating.

When you register as an athlete, you are responsible for:

• Paying the athlete registration fee.
• Reading and accepting the Liability Waiver before participating in any match.
• Showing up to scheduled matches you've committed to.
• Performing all movements according to the published Movement Standards.
• Conducting yourself with sportsmanship and respect toward other athletes, captains, and gym staff.

Payment Terms

Registration fees are charged at the time of signup via Stripe. Fees are listed clearly before checkout. Currency is US dollars unless otherwise stated.

Refunds: Registration fees are non-refundable except in the following situations:

• The season is cancelled by Affiliate League before it begins (full refund).
• You are removed from a team for a reason that is not your fault (pro-rated refund based on weeks remaining).
• A bona-fide medical emergency prevents you from participating before the season starts (case-by-case, contact admin@affiliateleague.net).

Affiliate gym revenue share is paid out via Stripe Connect at the end of each season. The current default rate is shown on /for-affiliates and confirmed at signup. Existing affiliates keep the rate they signed up with even if the default changes.

Code of Conduct

You agree not to:

• Cheat, falsify scores, or knowingly approve falsified scores.
• Harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against other participants based on race, gender, sexuality, religion, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
• Use the Service to send spam or unauthorized commercial messages.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service (including attempts to access accounts other than your own).
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or copy the Service for commercial purposes.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate this Code of Conduct. Repeat or severe violations may result in a permanent ban with no refund.

Liability Waiver

Participation in Affiliate League involves physical exercise that carries inherent risks of injury. Before participating in any match, you must read and accept the Liability Waiver. The Liability Waiver is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Intellectual Property

All content on the Service — logos, branding, written text, code, designs — is owned by Affiliate League or its licensors and protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or use it commercially without our written permission.

You retain ownership of any content you submit (team names, photos, match descriptions, etc.) but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating the Service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including violation of these Terms, non-payment of fees, fraud, or risk to other participants. We will refund any unused portion of pre-paid registration fees only at our discretion.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

We are not responsible for the conduct of other participants, the condition of any host gym facility, or injuries sustained during physical participation. Your participation is governed by the Liability Waiver.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Affiliate League and its officers, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Service will not exceed the total amount you have paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or one hundred US dollars ($100), whichever is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Affiliate League from any claims, losses, or damages arising out of your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, if you have an account, send you an email notifying you of the change. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

Media Rights and Content Usage

By creating an account and registering to participate in Affiliate League competitions, you grant Affiliate League and its operators an unrestricted, perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to capture, record, photograph, and videograph your likeness, image, name, athletic performance, and participation during official league matches, training sessions, and league events.

You authorize Affiliate League to use this content in any manner we deem appropriate, including but not limited to:

• Posting on social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter/X, and others)
• Displaying on our website and marketing materials
• Creating promotional videos, highlight reels, and compilations
• Broadcasting or streaming matches and events live or on-demand
• Publishing in newsletters, advertisements, and press releases
• Any other distribution, reproduction, or public display we choose to employ

This license is granted at account creation and applies to all current and future seasons in which you participate. You acknowledge that you will not receive payment, credit, or attribution for any use of this content. You waive any right to approve or review the final version of any content in which you may appear, or to object to any particular use of such content.

All media rights described in this section apply exclusively to official match footage and content captured by Affiliate League and its authorized operators.
